When You Go Through the Deep Waters, I'll Be With You

Often, when those who do not believe in the God, we serve look at our lives, they question the very existence of God.

“If this God truly loves His people, why does He allow them the same pains and sufferings as those who don’t believe?”

Christians, too, have asked this question.

I have asked it myself.

But when I do, I am reminded of this verse.

There is a very big difference between the lives of those who walk with God.

They ask God to walk this life with them. To stay close. To not abandon them.

And He does just that.

In fact, He promises this to those who call upon Him.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

(Isaiah 43:2, NIV)

The water, rivers, and fire represent the trials that come to each of us. And yes, at some point, something will bring about our earthly death. That is a 100% guarantee.

But God works all things out according to His plan. We are His precious children—He will never leave us.

We walk through trials and suffering but we have the Comforter Who walks with us. We are not alone. We are never without hope—because He walks with us no matter what we walk through.

Also, we have the blessed assurance that at the end of all our trials and difficulties here on earth—if we pledge our faith in Him, seek His face, and seek to obey Him—in other words, if we truly are His children and He our Father, he has already prepared a place for us—an eternal place –where:

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

(Revelations 21:4, NIV)

He walks with us now.

He has prepared an eternal home for us without the trials we face today.

And that is how our walk differs from those who do not believe. And the best news? This path is open to everyone.

Believe.
