How We Got Started

You may be like me. I tried countless, trendy ways to revamp my life, to lose weight, to be a better parent and spouse. Each time, I would gear up for “real” change, only to fail, my confidence sinking a bit lower.

I found that my coworkers, friends, and family members often experienced the same frustrations. Achieving goals and making progress is tough.

I found that it was far easier for me to lead or assist organizations in setting and achieving goals. Why was this?

I pondered this for a good long while, and I concluded that the difference was that in working with organizations on setting and achieving goals, I used a system that I spent years—over 30 years—developing and refining, whereas, in terms of my personal goals, I was far less deliberate.

So, I decided to adapt the system I had developed to lead organizational change to apply to my own life. I used the Bible as the basis for this system—what better source for guidance on life than turning to the Author of life Himself?  I identified the areas of focus so wonderfully set out in the Good Book.

Around these six focus areas, I wove the system I have used in organizational success:

- Determining what you want to see happen—what you really want to achieve this year

- Carefully developing a balanced, achievable list of goals

- Identifying measurable components of each goal

- Spreading those goals across the year so that they are realistic and achievable

- Allowing for bumps in the road and failures

- Celebrating success

- Building on success/ learning from failure

Over time, I have refined Branch Living to a system that truly works. And now, I want to share it with you!

Looking forward to chatting with you!
