Worship in a Pandemic

I know that many of us simply are not comfortable attending worship services indoors during this crazy pandemic.

So what can be do to keep our Worship alive?

My husband and I have entered a “new routine” for Sunday mornings. Here is how we worship during the pandemic:

  1. Our church only offers in-person worship services—and not live video or even video feeds. We do get our pastor’s sermon by email every Sunday, so we read and discuss it.

  2. We have two church services that we LOVE to watch online—one from Charlottesville VA and one in Wheaton IL. We trade back and forth—or we watch both!

  3. We scour social media for outdoor services—which are few and far between in our community!

To supplement this rather dry approach to Sunday mornings:

  1. I pull out my old CDs of sermons I have collected over the years (pre-podcasts) and listen to them in my car on the way to work.

  2. I stream podcasts of sermons by ministers I really like.

  3. We host an online/ Zoom Bible study with friends of ours from three states.

Jump in with your ideas. What are those of you who haven’t returned to indoor worship services doing on Sunday mornings for worship?

Blessings!
