We are Called to be Good, Not Great...

There is a stark difference between how the world evaluates us and how God judges us.

The world evaluates us based on physical appearance, wealth, status, jobs, cars, homes, and worldliness.

Isn’t it interesting that none of these things is part of God’s formula for judging us?

It is quite the opposite.

The world asks us to seek power.

God asks us to rely on His power.

The world asks us to accumulate wealth.

The Lord asks us to invest our material wealth in others and further the kingdom.

The world tells us that we should spend our time working hard and then indulging ourselves.

God tells us that we should learn about Him and His ways and share this with the world.

The World asks us to seek to be great. The Lord tells us to seek to be good according to His ways.

The world’s advice makes us stressed, exhausted, self-absorbed, unhappy, and judgmental.

God’s plan makes us full of the fruits of the spirit:

Love

Joy

Peace

Patience

Kindness

Goodness

Faithfulness

Gentleness

Self-Control.

You will reflect back and fully realize you have lived a good life. You will sleep well. You will be content.

Live goodness.

The world makes empty promises. Don’t believe them.

 Leave greatness to God.

 Strive to be Good!
